VIDAA named fastest Smart TV Operating System with 89% performance rating from an Independent Industry Benchmark Report in Germany
VIDAA, the Smart TV operating system (OS) developed by VIDAA International and used by Hisense, has been recognized as the fastest TV OS among five leading TV operating systems, according to a rigorous benchmark report conducted by WEKA MEDIA PUBLISHING GmbH, a leading independent testing and publishing institution in Germany.
The comprehensive evaluation measured the responsiveness of five leading TV operating systems across 11 everyday tasks, ranging from cold app launches to voice searches, HDMI switching, OTT channel skipping, and WiFi scanning. VIDAA delivered the fastest response times in 7 out of the 11 categories and earned the highest overall score, with an outstanding 89% performance rating.
Among the standout results, VIDAA clocked just 0.88 seconds when switching to an HDMI input, 0.90 seconds to skip OTT channels, and 1.88 seconds for voice search. It also excelled in tasks like network scanning, Netflix HDR playback, MP3 audio playback, and DLNA image casting.
The testing was carried out by WEKA MEDIA PUBLISHING GmbH, publisher of connect magazine, one of Europe’s most respected consumer electronics publications. Their in-house Testlab has been a benchmark authority in the CE industry for decades, known for its precise, repeatable methodology and use of professional-grade instrumentation. All tests in this report were conducted in a controlled environment using high-speed video capture at 120 fps, with up to ten repetitions per task to ensure reliability. Only mass-market, entry-level 43-inch TVs were used to ensure results can, to greatest extent, reflect real-world consumer experiences.

The test scenarios covered real-world actions such as powering on to live TV, launching major streaming apps, and performing voice searches. VIDAA consistently delivered top-tier results, often cutting execution times in half compared to the tested operating systems.

The test was conducted with devices purchased independently through a major online store in Germany to ensure fairness, using consistent environmental conditions and professional-grade timing equipment, including high-speed cameras and frame-accurate analysis tools.
