Day Two of Comic Con Africa
On Friday, the Main Stage lit up with the energy of three incredible film and series stars. First up was Jessie T. Usher, the actor behind the corrupt superhero A-Train in Amazon Prime’s hit show The Boys. Dan Fogler, who plays Jacob Kowalski in the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beats, delighted throngs of fans with his humorous telling of behind-the-scenes anecdotes. And finally, the giant curved screens of the Main Stage split open to reveal Misha Collins, who plays Castiel from Supernatural. The celebrated actor and humanitarian was an absolute charmer. For the fans of these stars, it was a dream come true to have their heroes standing just a few meters away from them on the Comic Con Africa Main Stage. All three will return on Saturday.

Super-Fun Brand Activations
Disney+ drew crowds with multiple experiences based on the platform’s hit shows. The Homer Simpson Hedge had fans in stitches as they recreated the iconic meme amongst the faux foliage. AXE gave away loads of merch to thrilled fans, while inside M-Net’s Fan Favourites train, con-goers snapped selfies of themselves in recreations of iconic sets. So many more activations like this await fans over the weekend.

Iconic Mascots Filled the Aisles
A feature of 2025 has been the number of iconic mascots coming to life in the con’s aisles. Kids and adults alike were absolutely thrilled to see larger-than-life versions of characters like Noodle and Bun, or gaming legends Mario and Luigi. Kellogg’s brought along a bunch of cereal heroes, like the Corn Flakes Rooster (his name is Cornelius, by the way), and Fruit Loops’ Toucan Sam. On Saturday, even more friendly faces take to the stage, with Coco the Monkey and the trio of Snap, Crackle, & Pop joining the breakfast crew.

Cosplay Blew Us Away
Day two of the con saw Cosplayers bring to life the most unbelievable array of characters: from non-humanoid species to animated creatures and the undead, the halls were packed with realistic masterpieces. The casual Cosplay comps were on fire with sass, attitude, and creativity. In the background, the professional Cosplayers prepared to be judged on Saturday – which of them will take home the Champion’s title?

Gaming Stakes Grew
The stakes in the Experience Hall got a lot more nail-biting. Scenes that surprised: someone’s granny made it to the fourth round of Tekken, and the youngsters at the RGB gaming stage in the KidsCon Zone brought as much action as the professional athletes playing for Telkom and Red Bull. Comic Con truly is for everyone.
Nasty C Made an Appearance
The Doritos Crunch Crew was not only giving away PS5 consoles – they also brought Nasty C to the con. Fans went wild as this musical hero rapped out his hits.
Sold-Out Saturday
Tomorrow brings more even more excitement as the festival opens its doors to a sold-out show. It’s going to be an action-packed day, and fans are advised to wear comfy shoes for the largest festival grounds of any Comic Con Africa.
