If you have ever purchased a TV only to be disappointed by the picture quality, you will understand why choosing the right display matters. After spending around four years with our previous QLED TV, we wanted something that could deliver better contrast, more vibrant colours and a genuinely more immersive viewing experience. That is exactly what caught our attention when we first saw this 60-inch 4K UHD QD Mini LED TV from Skyworth.
What immediately impressed us was the combination of Mini LED backlighting, Quantum Dot technology, a 120Hz refresh rate and Google TV, all packed into a sleek, modern design. Features like these are often associated with smaller premium displays or significantly more expensive televisions, making this TV particularly interesting for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment setup. After spending time watching movies, sports, regular TV shows and playing games, we can confidently say that this television has changed the way we experience content at home. But is a 60-inch QD Mini LED TV really worth upgrading to? Let’s take a closer look.

Premium Design With Slim Bezels
Beyond the SKYWORTH specifications, one of the first things we noticed about this TV was the design. The slim bezels create a modern, minimalist appearance that keeps your attention on the content rather than the frame surrounding it.
The bright, vibrant display is complemented by a dark grey brushed-aluminium-style strip, giving the television a clean and understated look. We appreciate this approach because it allows the screen to become the focal point of the room without unnecessary visual distractions.

Personalised Profiles and Content Recommendations
One feature we particularly appreciate is the personalised user experience. When turning on the SKYWORTH TV, you can select the user who is watching. This allows the viewing experience to be tailored to individual users, including their Continue Watching lists and recommendations from supported apps.
For households where different family members have different viewing preferences, this is a practical addition. Instead of scrolling through recommendations that do not interest you, the interface can better reflect what you enjoy watching.
Mini LED vs QLED: What Is the Difference?
One of the biggest reasons we wanted to upgrade from our previous QLED TV was the picture quality. While QLED televisions can produce vibrant colours and bright images, Mini LED technology introduces an important difference in how the display handles lighting. Traditional QLED TVs use a backlight behind the display, with a Quantum Dot layer helping to produce rich and vibrant colours. A Mini LED TV takes this concept further by using much smaller LEDs in its backlight, allowing for more precise control over different areas of the screen.
The SKYWORTH 60X6620K combines Quantum Dot technology with a Mini LED backlight, which is why it is described as a QD Mini LED TV. In practice, the difference becomes noticeable when watching scenes with a mixture of dark and bright areas. With the Mini LED backlighting and local dimming, the TV can adjust the brightness of different screen zones depending on what is being displayed. This helps produce deeper-looking blacks, stronger contrast and a more dynamic picture than I experienced with my previous television.
One moment that stood out was watching a particularly dark scene before switching to brighter content. The way the display adjusted to the changing scene was immediately noticeable. It even caught us off guard at first because we wondered why the panel appeared to change its lighting. That is when the benefits of Mini LED became clear. Although the results depend on the number of local dimming zones, picture settings and the content being watched, the improvement over my previous QLED television was genuinely impressive.

Who Should Buy This SKYWORTH 60X6620K TV?
Existing QLED TV owners
If you already own a QLED television and want improved contrast and a more refined picture, a QD Mini LED model could be a worthwhile upgrade. Our own experience moving from a conventional QLED display to this television was particularly positive. The difference in the viewing experience was one of the main reasons I enjoyed using it.
Families upgrading their living room
For families who regularly watch movies, series, sports and general television, the 60-inch display offers an engaging viewing experience. The personalised Google TV profiles, smart features and convenient remote functionality also make it suitable for shared household use.
Sports fans
If you enjoy Formula 1, rugby or other fast-moving sports, the combination of a larger screen and 120Hz refresh rate makes this TV an attractive option to investigate.
Movie lovers
Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 4K resolution and Mini LED local dimming give the television a strong feature set for movie nights. While it is not necessarily comparable to every flagship home cinema display, it offers a compelling mix of features for everyday entertainment.
Casual and console gamers
The large screen and advertised 120Hz refresh rate make this TV worth considering for gaming. Just remember to verify the exact gaming capabilities and HDMI specifications against your console or PC requirements.

Pros and Cons of the SKYWORTH 60X6620K TV
No television is perfect, and while this model impressed me, there are a few things worth considering before buying one.
The pros
- Improved contrast: Mini LED backlighting and local dimming help deliver deeper-looking blacks and more defined dark scenes than my previous QLED TV.
- A larger 60-inch display: Getting a 60 inch screen at the price point of a 55 inch QLED
- 120Hz refresh rate: A useful feature for fast-moving content and compatible gaming setups.
- Dolby Vision and HDR10+: Support for two major HDR formats adds flexibility when watching compatible content.
- Google TV: A familiar smart TV interface with streaming apps, personalised recommendations and Google Assistant.
- Dolby Atmos audio support: The built-in audio provides an enjoyable starting point for everyday viewing.
- Find My Remote: A genuinely useful feature for households where remotes tend to disappear.
The cons
- Off-axis viewing angles: Picture brightness and colours can dim and shift when watching from the sides, depending on seating position.
- Local dimming limitations: The local dimming system may not offer the same precision as more expensive flagship Mini LED televisions.

Is the SKYWORTH 60X6620K QD Mini LED TV Worth It?
After around four years with our previous television, we were ready for a better viewing experience. Although we would not say our original purchase was a complete regret, we were never entirely satisfied with its picture quality.
This television has changed that.
The vibrant colours, improved contrast, larger screen and smooth viewing experience make watching content at home feel more immersive. Whether we are watching Formula 1, enjoying a rugby match, having a family movie night or playing games, the upgrade is noticeable. We also appreciate the smaller details, from the minimalist design to personalised user profiles and the Find My Remote feature. These are the kinds of practical touches that make a television enjoyable beyond its headline specifications.
There are compromises, particularly when it comes to viewing angles, local dimming performance and brightness compared with more expensive flagship models. However, the overall package makes a strong impression. If you are looking for a larger 4K smart TV with Mini LED technology, Google TV, a 120Hz refresh rate and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+, this 60-inch QD Mini LED TV deserves a place on your shortlist.
