Juicy Tech at rAge
An amazing first day at rAge leads into a very bustling second day at rAge. Weekend has come for everyone and this made for a very busy day. Hall 2 was definitely the busiest but you cant blame anyone with guys like lenovo, MSi, ASUS, Gigabyte and even Sony showcasing their ware with awesome AAA games.
Sony stand was kinda amazing, they had like 15 to 20 PS5 for public use ( Literally heaven). You could play the new Marvel Spider-man 2 on them as well as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This being my first time playing with a PS5 felt like I went from riding a bicycle to driving a mustang! With it being so busy I didn’t get a chance to play with but I did get to see the new Lenovo Legion Go. The quality of graphics is insane powered by AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with AMD RNDA™ Graphics, its enough to make you want to sell a lung to buy.
Over at the MSi booth we checked out the new stealth 16 Mercedes – AMG motorsport. A fusion between computer and Mercedes into a glorious laptop with a thin 1.88KG laptop, GeForce RTX™ 4070, 4K screen and OLED. We managed to get a the peak of the box were you can read the concept and the design work from Mercedes design team as well as a message from the Vice President. The laptop also comes with a adapter carry case, high quality postcards, branded adapter, branded mouse and branded mousepad.
African Technopreneurs in collaboration with Gigabyte had VR stand with some latest and indie games around it. The VR games that African Technopreneurs were showcasing were Meta Quest 2 and 3 as well as Pavlov and Beatsaber. Dlink helped network African Technopreneurs stand while Gizzu helped keep the power on which is great seeing as the power did go off. We managed to get a small run down of the tech powering the VR games. Through Steam VR they were running on Intel 13 gen systems I5s with RTX 40 60. The games around the stand were powered with AMD and Intel system, some with RTX 40 60s and RX 7600.
Over by the ASUS stand we met with one of the product managers who gave us a run down on the equipment powering up the Mortal Kombat 1 and Forza games. ASUS having ROG Hyperion the latest Tower (his beast looks like it came out of a transformers movie) and ASUS TUF Gaming GT501 tower equipped with RTX 3080, ROG Dark Hero Z790 motherboard, ROG Monitor and tuff AX4200 gaming router. We managed to get a look at the Wi-Fi 7 router coming to South Africa next year here’s a small peak at it.
LogiTech showcased some racing simulations and they made sure it seemed as legit as you can get. The racing wheel chairs were crazy and they were hooked up to huge Flat Screen Curved TVs. They also set up enough computers for many people to enjoy fortnite and CSGO 2.
Some great things happening at rAge which can only signal even greater things happening next year.
