TECNO Sparks Excitement and Entertainment at Comic Con Africa
Innovative, AI-driven, technology brand TECNO had a busy time at this year’s Comic Con Africa Johannesburg event, with crowds of onlookers packing the brand’s exhibition space all eager to get a first look and hands-on experience of the two new smartphone ranges introduced into South Africa.
The POVA 7 Series, which marks the debut of POVA in the country, and SPARK 40 Series, which is an evolution of the previously released SPARK 20 Series, were the main draw, complemented by loads of prizes that were given away in an entertaining way through a coupon grab machine, a vibey environment, and surprise appearances by TECNO’s mascot T-Boy.
Another highlight for TECNO was the contribution of a POVA 7 Pro smartphone as a prize to the Comic Con Africa proceedings, with the winner being the very first person to have this new device in South Africa.
Surrounded by competitive gaming tournaments that ran over the four days, the futuristic-looking POVA 7 Series fitted perfectly with its mobile gaming capabilities on full display. Meanwhile, the SPARK 40 Series impressed with its long-lasting battery life across the devices, flagship-grade AMOLED displays, and slim, trendy designs. The pricing of the phones in the two new series also amazed, with attendees commenting on the affordability and great value for money of these upper mid-range devices.
Availability
TECNO’s new POVA 7 Series devices will be available from Vodacom stores in the coming weeks for recommended retail prices of R10,999 for POVA 7 5G and R12,999 for POVA 7 Pro 5G.
SPARK 40 Series devices will be available in the coming weeks from select retail partners including Dunns, Edgars (exclusive bundle for SPARK 40S – limited quantities), Game, HiFi Corp, Jet, Mr Price (exclusive bundle for SPARK 40), TFG, and Vodacom (availability varies per retailer, per product, per store, and while stocks last. E&OE). Recommended retail prices for the phones are as follows: SPARK 40C – R1,699; SPARK 40 – R2,499; SPARK 40S – R3,999; SPARK 40 Pro – R6,999.
