The D5200 is Nikon’s mid-level consumer DSLR camera, offering more features and control than the entry-level Nikon D3200, but not quite rivaling the more expensive cameras.

Nikon has unfortunately discontinued the D5200 Line , but there are still brand new units available on the market. A brand new unit will cost you anywhere between R 11 200 to R 20 569 and second hand camera retails from R 4000 for the body only up to R 8000 including a combination of lenses. When purchasing a D5200 second hand you have to keep in mind that the camera shutter has a 100k shots life span after which the shutter has to be replaced and also take into consideration the condition of camera.

Personal Opinions

When making use of the viewfinder you always end up making face marks on screen
because of its awkward positioning. You are unable to flip screen to face you and make use of the mic port because the cable from the port blocks the screen. But i don’t have only bad things to say about the camera it was an excellent decision for me to upgrade with the many scenes & features.
