The Redragon Horus TKL is a low-profile 87 key version of its original Horus keyboard.

Out of the box, you get:

  • A Keycap Remover.
  • 4 Extra mechanical key switches.
  • USB to USB-C connector.
  • Mechanical keyswitch remover.
  • Operating guide and stickers.

Product features

The keyboard measures 35.5 cm long x 14.5 cm wide x 0.8 cm thick. It weights 159 g. This keyboard is constructed similarly to the full size K618 Horus keyboard. The frame is made of plastic while the top plate and texture wheel is made of brushed aluminium.

This keyboard has 3 modes of connectivity, it is Redragons innovative first generation 3 mode connection technology, with:

  • USB-C wired.
  • Bluetooth 3.0 and 5.0.
  • 2.4 ghz wireless mode.

It also has worry free wireless. The built-in upgraded 3.0 and 5.0 bluetooth and 2.4 GHz offer a real wireless and no latency connection, for all devices in the market with it being easy to toggle among different devices in 3 mode sets.

It has low profile 11 mm dust-proof red keys. They keycaps are made of double shot ABS. The legends are permanent and won’t rub off and the prints on the keys are pad-printed so they aren’t permanent.

This keyboard has RGB back-lighting with 20 onboard lighting profiles and 9 single static colours. It has the ability to adjust the brightness or just switch to a plain white backlight. It has 5 indicator G keys for custom macros and dedicated controls. It also has the ability of adding 19 virtual keys.

This keyboard comes with a 1900 mAh lithium ion battery which offers 30 hours of gaming on a single charge.

Retail information

This keyboard is targeted towards gamers and computer enthusiasts, but it is also for the normal man who has a bit of money to spend and just wants that extra feel when they’re typing and using their keyboard.

This keyboard retails between R1200 and R1300. It has been seen on Takealot for R1240.

  • The feet risers and sturdy and do not wobble because of the integrated thick grip rubber.

Personal opinion

This is a really affordable mechanical keyboard, and for it’s build quality and design – it is an absolute steal. It is comfortable to type on and has alot of features including the easy on-board controls and software for key remapping. It sounds great to type on with the red dust-proof keys and is an absolute pleasure to use.
