D-Link DWR-930M 4G LTE mobile/Pocket Router

So with all the running around I’ve been doing recently, I have been using a lot of data and buying weekly data isn’t efficient anymore and it is pointless of me leaving my leaving my LTE sim at home because it doesn’t make sense me carrying around two phones so D-Link came in Clutch yet again.

So this is DLinks attempt to break into the mainly Huawei centered market of portable pocket routers. It is brand new to the South African market.

Product features

  • Cat 4 LTE (150 d/50 u)
  • 8 Device capacity
  • 1×2 MIMO (UL/DL)
  • 2x internal WiFi antennas
  • 3000 mAh Poly Li-ion for long lasting battery life
  • WPA/WPA2 PSK Auto (TKIP/AES)

This pocket router is useful to people who want WiFi but aren’t happy with the ADSL coverage or if there isn’t fibre in their area.

Include price and purchase information

The DLink website has most e-retailers as well as physical retailers where you can purchase the router.

Personal Opinions

  • Convenient plug and play operation
  • Small enough to fit in your pocket
  • Rechargeable battery means you’re not tied to a wall outlet.

Pros and Cons

Product Conclusion
This pocket router is convenient to fit in your pocket and carry around. It is good quality. It saves battery life on your phone instead of having the hotspot on. It is good to see other companies break into the market and do something different.
