The Industry’s First Smartphone with a 4-DoF Titanium Agile Gimbal

The HONOR Robot Phone integrates an ultra-compact 4-DoF mechanical system featuring the HONOR Titanium Agile Gimbal. Developed through 60 manufacturing processes, the system integrates more than 100 precision components and is supported by more than 100 patents. Compared with mainstream gimbals, HONOR has reduced the overall system size by 65% while increasing structural strength by 200%.

Its 2.6g Titanium Gimbal Motor enables control speeds of up to 360° per second, while the HONOR Super steel Flip Motor delivers a torque density of 120 N·m/L. Together, these technologies enable fast, precise movement and stable positioning within a pocketable flagship design.

Intelligent Imaging Through the HONOR–ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership

The HONOR Robot Phone marks the first product milestone under the Cinematic Imaging Partnership between HONOR and ARRI, the world-renowned designer of professional cinema cameras. Moving beyond simple filters, the device adapts selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional cinema workflow for use in a smartphone.

The rear camera setup is anchored by a Dual 200MP Camera system, featuring a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, paired with a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom. The 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording in ARRI CINEMA mode, while a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera with a 122° field of view completes the versatile imaging system.

Through the HONOR–ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership, the Robot Phone combines ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks with the HONOR H1 Image Chip. AI noise reduction improves video SNR by 8 dB, while AI dynamic range optimization supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range.

The video pipeline performs noise reduction earlier in the RAW domain, processes data in 14-bit 4:4:4, and outputs 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video, preserving more usable image information for post-production. ARRI Looks can also be previewed in real time, helping creators achieve a controlled cinematic look more easily.

For creators, ARRI LogC3 preserves more highlight and shadow information for post-production, while ARRI Wide Gamut 3 provides a broader color space and ARRI Looks offer controlled cinematic color styles. Footage can also be taken into professional editing tools such as DaVinci Resolve, where creators can directly apply ARRI LUTs as part of a complete mobile capture-to-post-production workflow.

Looking ahead, technologies developed through HONOR’s Cinematic Imaging Partnership with ARRI will continue to evolve and will be further showcased in the upcoming HONOR Magic9 Series.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 29 July 2026 – Global AI device ecosystem company HONOR yesterday hosted the HONOR Imaging Technology Launch in Hengdian in China, introducing its latest mobile imaging technologies and outlining how professional cinema workflow can be adapted for mobile creation.

At the event, HONOR introduced the Optics-Intelligence Evolution principle behind its imaging strategy, showcased its HONOR AiMAGE chip-device-cloud imaging engine, and announced a joint imaging technology lab with ARRI. The launch also brought together Harald Brendel, ARRI Director Image Science; Claudio Miranda, Academy Award Winner; Wang Boxue, Cinematographer; Luo Wei, HONOR Chief Imaging Engineer; and Zhao Fuchen, HONOR Imaging Cognition Expert, to discuss how professional cinema technologies and creative workflows can be brought closer to mobile creators.

The launch marks a significant evolution in HONOR’s imaging strategy. Instead of focusing only on camera specifications, HONOR is building a more complete mobile imaging technology system across professional image capture, AI-powered processing, cinematic color science and creator-focused workflows.

“Mobile imaging has long been caught in a race around pixels, sensors and hardware specifications,” said Luo Wei, HONOR Chief Imaging Engineer. “But in an era where everyone is creating video, users need more than technical parameters. HONOR AiMAGE: Building a Full-Chain Imaging Engine

At the keynote, HONOR introduced the Optics-Intelligence Evolution principle, summarised by the idea that “optics is the foundation, and intelligence raises the ceiling.” For HONOR, mobile imaging progress depends on the combined evolution of physical image capture and intelligent processing: optical and sensor capabilities define the foundation of image quality, while AI, algorithms and cloud capabilities amplify what users can create.

To support this direction, HONOR has built a chip-device-cloud AiMAGE imaging engine that connects the full imaging chain from physical capture to intelligent creation.

On the chip side, HONOR is developing a self-developed Transformer-based native AI ISP to reconstruct the image processing pipeline from the ground up. This works alongside a next-generation pixel array and EVS sensor technology, designed to improve original image capture and provide stronger input for AI imaging.

On the device side, HONOR is combining physical imaging hardware with real-time algorithms. This includes a self-developed titanium alloy three-axis gimbal, precision sensing hardware, optical technologies and real-time image processing algorithms, enabling deeper coordination between hardware stabilisation, image quality and motion control.

On the cloud side, HONOR is expanding imaging capabilities through RAW-domain image enhancement, spatial imaging technologies and Imaging Agent tools. These cloud-based capabilities are designed to break through device-side computing limits and support the full creative process from shooting and optimisation to intelligent content generation.

Extending ARRI Image Science and Professional Workflows to Mobile Creation

Through its Strategic Technology Cooperation with ARRI, HONOR is integrating selected elements of professional cinema workflow into mobile imaging. This includes ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks, bringing a more professional color and workflow foundation to the HONOR Robot Phone.

Unlike simple filters, LogC3 and Looks are part of a professional imaging workflow. LogC3 is designed to preserve more brightness and color information for post-production, while ARRI Wide Gamut 3 provides a broader color space and ARRI Looks help creators apply controlled cinematic styles. Together, these technologies support a workflow that gives creators greater flexibility from capture to editing, while helping mobile footage retain more creative information.

The launch also featured perspectives from renowned filmmakers and cinematographers, including Claudio Miranda, Academy Award Winner, and Wang Boxue, Cinematographer, who shared how mobile imaging tools can support more flexible professional creation.

At the event, HONOR invited Claudio Miranda to use the HONOR Robot Phone to recreate a cinematic scene, demonstrating how mobile imaging can help lower the barrier to professional-style visual creation. The collaboration will establish a robust academic AI research program, bringing together NVIDIA full-stack AI expertise, NVIDIA Nemotron™ open models and NVIDIA AI Cloud partner computing with the world-class scientific talent at KAIST, one of Asia’s premier research universities.

NVIDIA today announced that NVIDIA Agent Toolkit now includes NVIDIA Omniverse™ libraries — a collection of software components that give AI agents tools and skills to add physical AI capabilities to existing applications and prepare 3D content for simulation.

Robots, factories and autonomous systems need to be designed, tested and trained in simulation before they operate in the real world. Preparing 3D content for simulation takes more than realistic visuals — assets need the right structure, materials, scale, labels, sensors and physical properties. With NVIDIA Omniverse libraries in NVIDIA Agent Toolkit, AI agents have the tools and skills to build workflows, inspect scenes, flag issues and prepare assets, helping developers move faster from 3D content to simulation-ready environments.

Omniverse Libraries Bring Physical AI Skills to NVIDIA Agent Toolkit
NVIDIA Agent Toolkit helps software makers build AI agents that connect tools, skills and data sources. Omniverse libraries extend those agents into 3D and physical AI workflows with callable tools for sensor simulation, GPU-accelerated physics and simulation-ready asset validation inside existing applications.

The new Omniverse libraries — including ovrtx, ovphysx and CAD-to-SimReady skills — are openly available on GitHub, giving AI agents tools to build workflows for inspecting scenes, testing changes and preparing 3D assets for simulation. A new blueprint for integrating Omniverse libraries in Blender is also now available on GitHub.

The libraries’ key capabilities include:

• NVIDIA RTX sensor simulation: ovrtx helps applications generate camera, lidar, radar and other sensor outputs from 3D scenes, so developers and AI agents can test how physical AI systems may perceive virtual environments.
• Physical behavior: ovphysx uses GPU-accelerated physics to bring realistic behavior to 3D scenes using properties such as collisions, mass, friction and motion, so teams can first test how objects and systems interact in simulation.
• Simulation-ready 3D objects: CAD-to-SimReady skills help convert computer-aided design (CAD) data to SimReady assets built on OpenUSD, giving 3D content the properties needed for physical AI simulation and virtual testing.

Software Makers Build With Omniverse Libraries
Software makers including SideFX and PTC, as well as startups ForgeCAD, Lightwheel, Moonlake AI and Palatial, are among the first to adopt and build with Omniverse libraries, now part of NVIDIA Agent Toolkit.

SideFX is using OpenUSD workflows, as well as ovrtx and ovphysx libraries, to explore how agents can help integrate Omniverse libraries into its Houdini procedural 3D content creation workflows, giving technical artists a path to generate, test physics and prepare content for simulation.

“Procedural 3D creation is essential to building the complex, controllable worlds needed for simulation, robotics and industrial AI,” said Kim Davidson, president and CEO of SideFX. “With NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and OpenUSD, SideFX is exploring how agent-ready tools can support Houdini workflows, helping technical artists review, test and prepare procedural content for simulation while staying in control of the creative process.”

The PTC Onshape CAD and product data management (PDM) platform is using OpenUSD and ovrtx to connect cloud-native design workflows with physical simulation, helping product design content stay connected with CAD, PDM, collaboration and simulation workflows.

“Engineering teams are seeking more connected ways to design, collaborate and simulate throughout the development process,” said Neil Barua, president and CEO of PTC. “PTC’s work with NVIDIA supports that broader vision, while NVIDIA Omniverse libraries help enable simulation-ready workflows that bring validation and testing closer to where products are designed.”

On display at SIGGRAPH, “SimReady” Blender is a sample workflow built in Blender with NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and NVIDIA NemoClaw™, showing how software makers can add agent-ready simulation capabilities — including NVIDIA RTX sensor simulation, physics and validation — into existing 3D applications while keeping creators in control. This is now openly available as a blueprint for integrating Omniverse libraries in Blender.

The demo also previews how these workflows, built with Omniverse libraries as part of NVIDIA Agent Toolkit, can run locally, from compact RTX-powered systems with NVIDIA RTX Spark™ to NVIDIA GB300-powered systems with NVIDIA DGX Station™. RTX Spark systems will be available this fall from ASUS, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface and MSI, with models from Acer and GIGABYTE to follow. DGX Station systems are available to order from ASUS, Dell, GIGABYTE, HP, MSI, Supermicro and Exxact.

Startups, including those part of the NVIDIA Inception program, are also using Omniverse libraries and skills to add agent-assisted asset and scene preparation workflows. Palatial is using Omniverse CAD-to-SimReady skills to automate the creation and validation of SimReady assets at scale from CAD inputs. Lightwheel is using Omniverse Content Agents powered by OpenUSD in its SimReadyGen technology to generate physically accurate SimReady assets from text prompts.

ForgeCAD and Moonlake AI are exploring agent-driven 3D content workflows that use Omniverse capabilities to help generate, augment and prepare assets for physical AI simulation.

For example, an agent could schedule a brighter morning profile with higher brightness, 6500K color temperature, Gamma 2.2, and Blue Light Filter off. The agent can also set an evening profile with lower brightness, 4000K color temperature, and increased Blue Light Filter for more comfortable viewing before sleep. For color-critical work, a single request could select sRGB mode, 6500K color temperature, Gamma 2.2, Uniform Brightness, and a comfortable brightness level. For competitive gaming, it could switch to FHD@480Hz, activate FPS mode and OLED Anti-Flicker, and set the user’s preferred brightness. The CLI executes monitor-control commands locally on the workstation, while the agent translates user intent into a sequence of supported actions.

Intel will integrate advanced, Gemini-powered generative AI across its global workforce, helping to scale capabilities and bolster traditional workflows across engineering, supply chain, and corporate operations.
